I’m certainly no health expert, but I have experienced that feeling of being constantly hungry while eating raw before. I just eat when I’m hungry, but I’ve definitely noticed that I stay full longer and have more energy when I drink green smoothies for breakfast that have ginger (energy) and some kind of fat (coconut oil, avocado, nut milk) in them. And big ones too! Like a quart. The first day while I was fasting I wasn’t any more tired than usual, but come the second day the energy started kicking in.
Reading your blog I feel like you usually have snacks throughout the day, though my memory could be tricking me… A good snack that gives you some energy is dates. It’s like raw candy! I highly recommend them. I think, too, when your body is used to a certain way of eating that involves carbs like you say and heavier foods in general, you will probably feel more hungry. It could be that you are working, too, so you’re burning up more energy than if it was one of your days off.
Don’t know if that helps, but I hope so!]]>
I’m wondering if that’s because my body is so used to a carb-heavy diet that one day of raw eating sends me into some kind of shock…since you’ve been doing this for several days (and I know you’ve had other raw weeks in the past), did it take a day or two to adjust before you started feeling energetic?]]>
Really like the basil and avocado combo. I think my avocado is in for a treat tomorrow!]]>
