I'm not too too strict on the sugar, so I am allowing myself agave every now and then. Actually, I've only had it once this month! Basically, granulated sugar/evaporated cane juice-type things are on my no-no list. Maple syrup is okay by me, too. I’m definitely planning on raw recipes in there, some of which will be “accidentally raw,” like dressings and such.

I have been refined sugar free for nearly 4 years now...it really isn't that hard once you get the hang of it (reading ingredients lists is a must...even on things like canned tomatoes!). Fresh/dried fruit makes a great dessert, as you know and your blog post illustrates so well :-) As for the zine, are you going to have a theme or anything for it? Or are you really open to anything? I've also been making the frozen fruit-in-a-food processor kind for years and it's really good, too, though more like sorbet than ice cream. I'll look at Gena's. I used to add some frozen orange juice concentrate to the processor mix, and that worked really well, but I wish I had a VitaMIx! My Amazon cart is bursting with new vegan cookbooks, and I wish I could buy them all, but like you, am using restraint and budget as a guide. There are so many!
